“Next in Line” Music Showcase

Tennessee State University (Performing Arts Center)




NASHVILLE, TN.__March 24, 2010__ Nashville lyricist and Tennessee State University student Michael “Openmic” McGaha will take the stage as the headliner of the April 24th 2010 “Next in Line” performance showcase for aspiring music artists in and around Middle Tennessee.

Beginning at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center (TV Station) on the TSU main campus, the show will also feature an opening dance number act as well as a performance introducing R&B singer, Jacob Sanders.

Next in Line helps independent artists launch their brands, hone their performance abilities and tap into a collective marketing & promoting effort. With an added purpose of exposing artist to record labels and label executives, the showcase also offers mentoring, feedback and training from veterans in the industry.

Openmic is a Nashville native, and now currently a student at the Tennessee State University as a sophomore majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. His musical influences stem back to his child hood with a listening to the raw jazz sounds of Miles Davis and Charlie Parker. Other influences come from artist like Jay-Z and Mos Def, while the elements of fashion, comic books, college, and relationships all add to the mix. Openmic dropped his first mix tape in 2007 at the age of 17, and now his 4th mixtape is set to drop in 2010 titled “A Different World.” For more information on Openmic visit www.mrhometownhero.blogspot.com

All Next in Line artists will receive a high definition DVD and CD of their performance to be used at their discretion for branding efforts. Past featured artist include Charity Ward, Jacob Sanders, Weetu and The Truth, Melan White and Curtis Fields.
